Inspirational Print Ideas
Steph Wood of Manchester School of art showed an explosion of print, texture and layers
Karen Shechori showed one of the more directional prints at Istituto Marangoni’s graduate show. These strong scientific visuals are worked alongside crisp tailoring for a juxtaposing mixI love this bold monochrome numerical print from the @Sportmax #Resort2014 collection!
Jane Swansburry of Ravensbourne approach to print certainly grabbed our attention, working a mishmash of tropical repeats with a painterly, placement portrait
Amy Gaunt’s photoreal printed shirts stood out at UCA Rochester graduate show, noting cityscapes, cameras and newsprint as key imagery
Some of my favorites designers - Point Of View
I selected Alexander wang, Proenza Shouler and nicole Farhi as my point of view. These bords express their style, designer biographies and personal reflections on look, color, fabrics, silhouettes inspirations, brief history. The designers last collection may not always totally reflect the design image,so it is important to refer to past collections as well,to correctly identify the continuity of their DNA rather than seasonal trend.

Tropicana Mystery
These batik samples present the final outcome of a three month long research and creative development project which explored the sri Lankan batik.Tropicana mystery inspired innovative exploration of Mangrove swamp called“Muthurajawela” located Negambo. It is endemic biodiversity system of Sri Lanka.
Through my samples I tried to give feel of this tropical mangrove swamp atmosphere using by batik technique. The color palette is characteristically muddy, earthy and plankton like with textures are including shapes, lines of mangrove flora & fauna.
Here I combined batik and digital printing last two samples.
